Tata DoCoMo and Tata Indicom leads new mobile subscriber additions – RCOM offending others in its ‘Simply Reliance’ Ad

It was all Bharti Airtel’s and Reliance Communication’s saga in the India Telecom Market till last quarter. But, now the story is entirely different. Looking at the Mobile Subscribers data for the month of September 2009, It seems, Tata Teleservices which owns Tata DoCoMo (GSM) and Tata Indicom (CDMA) is racing up fast.

The country saw around 14.98 million new mobile subscribers in the month of September 2009 and the total stands at 471.73 million. Bharti Airtel had 2.5 million new mobile subscribers and as usual it leads the chart with a market share of 23.43%. Reliance Communication which offers both GSM and CDMA under the same brand saw 2 million net new additions and its total market share is at 18.26%.

One guy who clearly stood out the pack was Tata Teleservices. Thanks to the revolutionary schemes and mind blowing offers unveiled by Tata DoCoMo and Tata Indicom, the parent company Tata Teleservices saw whooping number of new mobile subscriber additions. With 4 million new additions, Tata teleservices holds 9.92% market share. I am sure, if this momentum continues, we might see the company among top 3 telecom providers in the chart.

Companies like Reliance Communication (RCOM) are introducing new mobile schemes like “Simply Reliance” to counteract Tata DoCoMo’s and Tata Indicom’s mobile plans. I liked their latest “Simply Reliance” advertisement in which Hirthik Roshan played a Mobile Piper role. Excellent dance (I heard, dance has been choreographed by Indian Michael Jackson Prabhu Deva) by Hirthik and awesome tune But, they went on to directly offend other telecom players in this advertisement. Look at this “Simply Reliance” advertisement carefully and comment below on who Reliance Comm is offending directly ( Clue : Look at the posters and color codes they show in this Ad).

Simply Reliance – STD, Roaming, Local, SMS at 50 paisa – For lifetime.

On the other hand, Tata DoCoMo’s Ads are addictive and NO way less compared to Reliance’s. I and few of my friends have already started murmuring the docomo tune especially the one which is starting at 42nd second in this Ad.

Whatever said, RCOM is feeling the heat for sure and Tata Teleservices is racing up in the Indian Telecom Market. Don’t forget to answer the Reliance Advertisement question asked above.
