Adam Tablet rocks – impressive show by Notion Ink at CES 2011 – tech spec & gadget demo
This year Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2011) was an interesting event (as always) and had top notch companies all over the world demonstrating their their latest and next generation technologies in Laptops, TVs, Cars, Gaming consoles, etc., CES 2011 is special to us because, one Indian company staged an impressive show taking everyone by surprise. Its none other than Notion Ink and its Adam Tablet – India’s answer to Apple iPad.

Right from December 2009 when Notion Ink announced Tablet model named Adam challenging Apple’s iPad, blogosphere and various gadgets sites doubted this company’s capability and didn’t consider to be a serious contender in the tablet market. Nevertheless, Notion Ink was able to get good market traction and was one of the highly expected tablet devices in the market.
And finally Notion Ink was able to stage an impressive show at CES 2011 and gadget buffs had to accept Adam Tablet as a serious contender to Apple’s iPad.

– 1024 x 600-resolution screen with trans-reflective PixelQi display
– — PixelQi makes an incredibly crisp reading experience even under the Sun (Apple iPad and Samsung Galaxy Tabs are UNUSABLE under sunlight)
– Eden UI – the Adam’s software interface.
– — Notion Ink has done massive amounts of work on top of Android and has created a panel centric UI. Basically, you can add panels for certain applications by opening the application drawer and dragging an icon down.
– Apps Notion Ink’s has built some core apps like mail, calender, browser etc., No other App Store support for now. Might launch Genesis Store – Notion Ink’s App Store.

Well, we should say Notion Ink has carried itself good right from the product announcement, keeping high buzz on internet over an year and finally staging an impressive show at CES 2011. Notion Ink has also got FCC approval for its device and its pre-orders are overwhelming. The company is expected to ship the devices to international customers sooner.
Top gadget sites like CrunhGear, Engadget are all in praise for Notion Ink in coming up with a feature rich and cheaper tablet device and having itself added to the serious contender list for Apple iPad.
