R-Comm launches 7 series mobile numbers in Tamil Nadu circle

Next time when you ask your friend or colleague his/her mobile number then don’t get confused or surprised if they speak out mobile numbers starting with the digit “7″. Yes, the “7″ series mobile numbers are rolled out in India and R-COMM is the first operator to make them available for its customers in the state of Tamilnadu.

Reliance Communications, part of the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani group (ADAG), announced the launch of ’7′ series mobile number in its
GSM platform for the first time in the country in Tamil Nadu circle.

The department of telecommunications has recently allotted the series to Reliance Communications, Tamil Nadu circle. The brand new fancy number series beginning with “7667″ would be available exclusively under Reliance GSM service in Tamil Nadu.

“We are sure that the new ’7667′ series will help our customers differentiate our services in a crowded ’9′ series market and provide the necessary innovative value”, Reliance Communications, Tamil Nadu and Kerala Head Somasekhar Ganapathy said.

Vodafone is the first operator to change the mobile series number from 9 to ’8′ in 2009.

R-Comm told that the “7 Series” are available in both pre-paid and post-paid platforms across its GSM network in Tamil Nadu.
