Reliance BIG FM’s unique marketing drive – FREE bus ride with lounge service – gotta listen to their radio tho!

I heard this story few days back. Reliance ADAG’s 92.7 BIG FM did an unique marketing drive in Kolkata, by which commuters on few bus routes were given free ride to office in their BIG FM Buses.

The team identified busy routes (like Baghuihati to BBD Bag, Tollygunge to sector V, Ultadanga to Sector V, Ruby General Hospital to Sector v, Gariahat to BBD Bag, Chingrighata to park street, Tollygunge to BBD BAG, Park circus to Sector V) in the city and flew BIG FM buses and offered free ride to the commuters.

These BIG FM buses were given a total make over with red carpets and cushions thereby transforming it into a mini lounge. Added to these, commuters were also provided with some refreshments making the rides stress free ones.

All for FREE ? yep, totally. But, there was a catch! Commuters were forced to listen to 92.7 BIG FM Radio programs during the journey :). So, I see, this free BIG FM bus rides were marketing attempt to woo people in the city, about BIG FM programs and thereby increase the viewership count. Was the event frutiful ?? Anyway, I liked the idea.
