The 4 year old Chennai based Zoho Corporation has launched yet another tool – Zoho Discussions. Zoho already offers dozen other work online tools (CRM, online office suite, wiki, etc.,). Well, Zoho Discussions is NOT a brand new web 2.0 idea (just like many of its other tools). I would say, its a clone of zenDesk, the market leader in helpdesk tools.

The new helpdesk tool from Zoho is feature rich, clean and sleek. Zoho Discussions allows organizations to create external and internal communities (yeah! simply call it as helpdesk) where problems are solved, topics are discussed and ideas are exchanged. Businesses can create a customer support forum where solutions to problems come not only from the company support reps, but also from other users in the same situation. Customers can make their voices heard and vote on what they like and don’t like. Employees can discuss important topics in an environment that fosters collaboration much better than e-mail.

Key features of Zoho Discussions includes easy management of users, categorization using labels, tags, moderation and complete branding control of the site. In addition to domain mapping, Zoho Discussions also offers customizable SEO friendly URLs for forums, sub forums, topics, filters, activities and user profiles.
