Microsoft is developing a small tablet-style PC, codenamed ‘Courier’, which is already in late prototype stage (Gizmodo reports). The booklet shaped device has dual 7-inch screens, built-in camera on the back, and Wi-Fi. The screens are touch & gesture sensitive and work on inputs like pinching, flicking, writing and drawing. Looks like the Courier is being created as a digital replacement of the traditional paper planner. Is this an answer to Apple’s plans of launching tablet-style PC, a larger version of the iPhone? Not really! Because from the initial reports it looks like the Courier is mainly being created to replace your paper planner and scribling pad, and the Apple’s tablet PC is more for entertainment – watching video, listen to rock, surfing the net, playing games. We need to wait and watch, for Apple and Microsoft to officially announce about their tablet-PCs.
