The Union Budget is presented each year on the last working day of February by the Finance Minister of India in Parliament. Finance Minister of India, Pranab Mukherjee will be announcing his second Interim Budget 2010-2011 on Feb 26th 2010 which will be very important for the nation to survive in the times of global financial downturn. In short the budget will be marking on the sustenance of GDP growth in India.

India Budget 2010-11 is projected to have substantial impact on the Food processing business. The accelerated growth in the prices of fruits and vegetables can be prevented by controlling the food wastage. The impending budget is expected to resolve this issue besides dealing with the issue of heavy excise duty on branded items

The Indian budget 2010 is expected to become more pocket friendly, with decreased cost of food, garments and transport. At least, it is being expected that there would be no hike in the fares and prices.

Bad new is, in the budget of 2010-11, there is a chance to withdraw the allowances, schemes etc given to the industrial & agricultural population, because of a better growth in economy.

Also, latest updates on Union Budget is available at Indian Union Budget 2010 – 2011 , my co-authors’s wishlist on this budget and the good and bad of railway budget 2010 – 2011
