By Gobu Ezhumalai on 15 February, 2010, 3:36 pm
As we predicted here, desi companies are following suit in rising up and fighting face to face with big pocketed mighty guns. Few weeks back it was Infibeam which swept the indian gadget space with its Pi device announcement. This time, another Indian company NotionInk is releasing a similar E-Reader touchscreen device.
Adam tablet Is it really a tablet? or a book reader? Notion Ink wants to call it a news species of device and so the name “Adam”. Adding a picture for the look and feel about Adam tablet.
Though the product is not available in market until June 2010, its sure a competitor for iPad. Did I mention it correct? Yes, its a competitor for iPad.
Some specs and features which you should read more in the features page of notion ink are attracts our attention are :
1. Dual-Core ARM® CORTEX -A9 MPCORE™ Processor
ARM has a proven itself many times for its sheer performance in low power hand held gadgets for very good performance. We are going through a a time period where in most of the gadgets are having ARM processor.
2. Dual Display.
A common problem in handheld devices is visibility of contents in screen particularly text messages directly under sunlight. Notion Ink came up with a solution to that is really a plus point.
3. Android User Interface.
Android User Interface has been found to be smooth and highly responsive when comes to small devices and we have seen that already in Android phones.
3. 3G and WiFi Connectivity, Multi-touch support.
Multi-touch support is cool. Having a track pad below the device is really a new in thought but its my sheer belief that people will feel it comfortable when having both the hands holding the device and using index finger at the back to track the mouse.
4. 140 Hours audio and over 16 hours of HD video playback batter-life.
Hope I didn’t type the hours wrongly. Yes its a lot of duration and really helpful when you are in move.
5. 128 degree Swivel Camera for taking pictures and video.
6. 1080p Full High Definition Multimedia
7. Ulta Low Power NVidia GPU
The features are really amazing isn’t it?. We need to wait and see how its going to perform. Notion Ink has also planned to release a SDK for apps software developers. Lets keep our fingers crossed till June 2010 for Notion Ink’s Adam tablet.
