We know broadband penetration in India is bad. When many other countries are having average broadband speed at over 4 Mbps …There has been some initiatives from few players in the country to bump up the internet speed. One such is the Metro Ethernet Scheme of MTNL … over three years to lay a five lakh km optic fibre cable (OFC) network to reach every gram panchayat. Country’s Telecom Public Sector Unit (PSU), BSNL is shedding out an infrastructure company to implement this mega project and work with other PSUs like Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) and RailTel.
