Zoho Corporation has been creating lots of buzz in the market for quite sometime now. Mostly with their new product launches, integration suites or deployment news. But this time is little off track news.
The “Evil Empire” Microsoft has once again made poking comments on one of its competitor’s product. Though it got beaten up many a times in the past for such disparaging comments, Microsoft never seems to learn a lesson. This time, it commented about a company which has a strong online presence and very many loyal customers.
In a recent interview, Ron Markezich, corporate Vice President of Microsoft’s online Office application, said -
“We’re not seeing any inclination that Zoho or Google or Zimbra or any other of those offering fake Office capabilities can replace …”
Zoho, immediately retaliated back and made series of strong responses through – blog, twitter and even created a website to fight back the “Evil Empire” in a professional way. Zoho explained some its key features of its “Work. Online” Office Tools and how they are advantageous over the Real (???) Office. Zoho didn’t stop with these. It created a Movie (in bollywood/kollywood style) to kick butts of the “Evil Empire” Microsoft for its loose talks.
This fight between the Mighty Microsoft and Zoho, reminds me of a famous quote by Mahatma Gandhiji –
First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win …
Poor Microsoft, it is marketing competitor products through loose talks. Be it new product launches or retaliation, Zoho is amazingly fast and strong. Keep fighting Zoho !! Long way to Go.
