Google Wave Invite for India folks

By Manoj Govindassamy on 11 October, 2009, 4:20 pm

After a few weeks of wait, today I got my google wave invite (thanks Alex). Wasting no time, I activated my Google Wave and from the first few minutes of using it, I have to say, everybody should give a try to this new real-time communication platform. It combines aspects of email, instant messaging, wikis, web chat, social networking, and project management to build one elegant, in-browser communication client. You can bring a group of friends or business partners together to discuss how your day has been or share files.

One bad thing I found was, tying in characters in a new wave (yeah, mail) are not so smooth as you type in normal web based email clients. Each character takes a while to get echoed back. May be syncing service brings in few latencies, but with increasing broadband speeds these problems should go away sooner. If you guys are new to google wave, have a look at this google wave video.

If you guys want to try out Google Wave, sign up here. It might take a long time for you to get the invite from Google as thousands of wave enthusiasts might be in the queue before you. If you can’t wait that longer, please leave a comment and I would distribute my google wave invites to the commenters on first come basis.
