Sudha Murthy does it again – helps Narayana Murthy in his VC Fund “Catamaran”

Mr. N.R Narayana Murthy, co-founder of Infosys technologies, offloaded part of his stake in the company few weeks back to start a new VC Fund “Catamaran”. His 800,000 shares was sold for 173 crores to kick start “Catamaran”. Now Sudha Murhty, wife of Infosys co-founder NRN Murthy, sells part of her stake in the company to add more funds to “Catamaran”.

In 1981, It was Sudha Murthy who helped Mr. NR Narayana Murthy with an Angel Fund of Rs.10,000/- to start off his dream of building a Software Company. Yeah, it is Infosys – a multi billion dollar company today. And after 18 years, Sudha Murthy does it again by helping his partner in setting up his VC Fund by giving him Rs.430 crores which she got by selling quarter of her stake 1.6% in Infosys.

As of September end, Murthy held a 0.55% stake in Infosys while his family held another 4.42% stake in India’s second-largest IT services provider. S. Gopalakrishnan, CEO and MD of Infosys, has bought 4 lakh shares in the firm for Rs 86.6 crore. Gopalakrishnan and his family hold a 3.34% stake in Infosys.

Narayana Muthy’s VC Fund “Catamaran” will look at areas like healthcare, retail, technology with early stage investments.

    I am Arun from Bangalore I wanted to start of with the buissness and done all the research to start i wanted invester to look at my plan i am sure that this plan wikk defenatly imress everybody for a start i can give 30 people employment oppertuinity and as the time goes it wikk deffenatky increase
