Facebook to start India Operations in Hyderabad – to recruit 500+ engineers

Facebook is all set for desi plunge…to open it operation in Hyderabad..the company is on hiring spree and targeting 500+ engineers initially for its Hyderabad operations. Just few months back, Zynga (maker of games FarmVille, Mafia Wars) – a social gaming company running on Facebook platform setup its operations in Bangalore . … It is expected, the company gets the same the enjoyable work culture (and with fat payouts) in its India operations also and get into the list of “dream companies” for the tech engineers in the country…

Yahoo India launched SpotM, a social network for the Indian market around September 2008. The product was developed by the Yahoo Bangalore team and was in closed (invite only) beta stage till date. It was claimed, SpotM will showcase extensive features like Free SMS and others with an ultra modern look. I… dominated by Google’s Orkut and Facebook. After 1 year of beta (invite only) service, Yahoo India announced that SpotM will be shut down. As guessed, this new social network failed to woo indian social groups. Orkut and Facebook which are already dominating in India, continues to grow more facster than any new networks.
