TCS to hire 30,000 employees this fiscal: Ratan Tata

Tata Consultancy Services Chairman Ratan Tata said the company is planning to hire around 30,000 employees this fiscal. "We estimate our manpower growth would be 30,000 new people this year," TCS’ Chairman, Ratan Tata, told shareholders at the company’s annual general meeting (AGM).

Infosys Technologies shares plunged to their all time high value of Rs 2,823.8 yesterday. This is owing to the strong sales forecast for the year head, by Infosys, India’s No 2 software services exporter.

British Petroleum, one of the world’s largest integrated oil and gas company, has signed a $1.5bn deal with India’s leading technology companies. This comes at a time when the Indian IT industry is just waiting for a boost. This 5 year deal signed will be shared by the major Indian players like TCS, Infosys, Wipro. Reports say that TCS may bag $350-400 million of this deal. Infosys may bag around $200 million.
