Most interesting part is the valuation at which the franchise equity is sold for and who is buying it. 93% stake is reportedly put to sale for $250 million and the buying hands are from British PE firm ‘ISIS equity’. … When two new IPL teams – Pune IPL team and the highly controversial Kochi IPL team were bid for $370 million and $333 million, how an existing IPL team could get sold for less valuations ? ..

Well, when it comes to cricket, its a religion as such in the country and so Sony Max was able to sweep ad revenue of over 700 crores from the IPL 2010 event in just 2 months time period….May be ESPN would not be able to cross SET Max’s IPL 2010 Ad revenue, but it can definitely bag a significant chunk as it has already sold off most of its ad inventory for the event….
