Telecom Towers & Infra consolidation continues – Reliance Infratel inks in deal with GTL Infra – 80,000+ tower company

ADAG’s mobile infrastructure company Reliance Infratel and GTL Infrastructure has agreed upon Rs. 50,000 crore deal, by which telecom towers of both these companies..any telecom operators….The combined entity will have over 80,000 towers (50,000+ from Reliance Infratel and 30,000+ from GTL Infra) and will be tower home to telecom operators like Reliance Communication (obvious), Aircel (because Aircel tower business was bought by GTL recently), Tata Teleservices and various other new players like Stel, MTs, Uninor, Videocon….

Essar Telecom Infra bought over by American Towers’ Transcend Infra – More consolidation in Telecom Towers business

..Transcend Infrastructure Ltd (TIL) the subsidy of American Towers Corporation (ATC) is taking over Essar Telecom Infrastructure in an all cash deal and making a tower valuation of around 45 lakhs which is same as the previous GTL-Aircel deal. To get this deal done, Transcend has entered into share purchase agreement with three Indian companies of the Essar Group ….Seems, ATC is constantly expanding its tower portfolio. With the latest deal, ATC has got 3 indian tower companies in its kitty and has installation base … increase its network coverage and launch new technologies like 3G and WIMAX..
